Old-world elegance meets modern flair
Family friends Ash and Andrew’s vision for their wedding was crystal clear: a Constantia garden gala in colourful black tie - effortless yet abundant, where old-world elegance meets modern flair. They wanted their flowers to reflect a bold and charismatic spirit - oranges and purples, flowers and fruit, structure and surprise. Far from an expected wedding aesthetic, it was a dream brief - and it terrified me.
As I started to conceptualise the flowers, I realised that the vessels that held them needed to be just as considered - not just containers but an integral part of the composition. I started experimenting in the studio and next thing I knew I’d created a collection of terracotta urns: some big, some small, some brushed, some glazed, but each with a unique character that captured the joy of Ash and Andrew’s brief.
